30 Minute Dance, Half-disappeared
A body dances in the gaps of a landscape, performing duets with hidden things. Here, everything is only visible through something else. Objects disconnect from themselves, briefly glimpsed before they are submerged into something larger again. The body tries longingly to choreograph them back into presence.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Maddie Granlund is an interdisciplinary performance artist practicing between Minnesota, USA and Glasgow, UK. She often works with projection, live bodies, and elemental materials to explore how these things reflect or obscure eachother to reveal some larger, seen-yet-unseen image. Her work is research led, aesthetically expanding from prominent ecological theory. She has a Bachelor of Art degree in Contemporary Performance Practice from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and has worked with dance artist Ultimate Dancer, exhibited work at North East Sculpture, and produced and devised works presented at the Minnesota Fringe Festival.
