DISPLACEMENT: Uncertain Journeys is a collaborative art project– working in partnership with artists, States, NGOs, academic institutions, and UN organizations– to create opportunities to understand disaster displacement from a visual, experiential and emotional perspective. Notably, DISPLACEMENT develops art interventions addressing themes related to disaster displacement for international policymakers, rather than the general public, such as at intergovernmental conferences like the 2018 Global Forum on Migration and Development in Marrakesh, and COP25 in Madrid.

Hannah Entwisle Chapuisat is Co-founder and Curator of the art project DISPLACEMENT: Uncertain Journeys, Director of the Swiss art association La Fruitière, and a doctoral candidate at the University of the Arts London, Chelsea College of Arts. She is also a lawyer by training, with over 15 years of experience working with the United Nations, States, and non-governmental organizations on operational and policy issues related to the protection of people displaced by conflict and disasters. Hannah is currently bridging these two worlds by exploring how contemporary art practice and research can contribute to the development of international law and policy to protect the rights of people displaced by disasters and climate change.
